Refugee Youth Changemakers (RYCM) is a youth-led movement founded by and for displaced young people determined to turn adversity into action. Born in refugee camps and underserved communities, RYCM works to ensure that refugee youth are not just seen as victims of crisis, but as leaders, innovators, and changemakers capable of shaping their own futures.
Our work focuses on three core areas: expanding access to education, building practical skills for self-reliance, and amplifying refugee voices through storytelling and advocacy. From scholarships and digital skills training to leadership programs and the Resilient Voices Podcast, we empower youth to learn, lead, and launch impact-driven initiatives in their communities.
At RYCM, we believe that real solutions come from those directly affected. That’s why refugee youth are at the heart of every program we design. Together with partners, we are building a world where no refugee youth is left behind—and where they are supported to thrive, influence policy, and lead the change they wish to see.
For 3 years RYCM has been safeguarding the rights of young refugees in Rwanda and East Africa
RYCM has worked over 200 young refugee in fields of education
Refugee Youth Changemakers (RYCM) is currently in the process of formal registration as part of our long-term strategy to strengthen our impact and partnerships. While not yet officially registered, we operate in full respect of the laws and regulations set by national authorities and governing bodies in the countries where we work. We are committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical practice, ensuring that all our activities align with legal standards as we continue to empower displaced youth and build toward formal recognition.
