Empowering Education for Refugees: Claude’s Journey from Displacement to Impact

In this episode of Resilient Voices of Refugees, we sit down with Claude, an inspiring educator, refugee rights advocate, and project management enthusiast, whose work is transforming the lives of refugee learners in Rwanda and beyond.

Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo and now based in Rwanda, Claude brings a unique blend of lived experience and professional expertise to the frontlines of humanitarian education. Currently serving as a Course Facilitator at Kepler College’s Kiziba campus, Claude supports refugee students through connected learning, mentorship, and academic guidance.

In addition to his role at Kepler, Claude also volunteers as Communications Officer at Refugee Youth Changemakers, a youth-led initiative driving inclusion and advocacy for displaced youth. His mission is rooted in a deep commitment to building education systems where all learners—especially those affected by displacement—can thrive and lead.

Claude’s passion for refugee empowerment is backed by over three years of experience and a pursuit of academic excellence, as he currently works toward an MBA in Project Management to better design and lead impactful educational programs in humanitarian settings.
